INTERNAL CALL FOR PROPOSALS FOR PRESENTATIONS AT SCIENTIFIC CONFERENCES 2025
The Faculty of Engineering and Information Technology at the University of Pécs (UP-FEIT) invites applications for the presentation of papers at an international scientific conference.
Aim of the call for proposals:
The intention of this call is to provide an opportunity for applicants to present their research at an international scientific conference. The internal call for proposals is open to all full-time and part-time faculty members, researchers of the UP-FEIT, and doctoral students of the Breuer Marcell Doctoral School who have active student status. The grant aims to support the professional development and careers of the applicants, their research groups, as well as the Faculty of Engineering and Information Technology at the University of Pécs. A maximum of two participants will be awarded funds for each conference.
Application details and requirements:
To be eligible for the grant, you must:
- submit a publication of the paper at an international scientific conference, published in the Conference Proceedings or Pollack Periodica (Q3) or a journal with a Q3 or higher ranking, in English within one year of being awarded the grant.
- submit an abstract for the presentation in English, to be included in a citable abstract book.

When assessing applications, preference will be given to:
- Applicants who are members of a faculty working group and/or a faculty research group.
- Existing strategic partnerships or prestigious conferences.
An international scientific conference is defined as a conference that produces a citable Abstract Book in English with an ISBN or Web of Science (WoS) or Scopus identifier. To verify eligibility, the applicant must provide a link to the Abstract Book of the same conference from the previous year (or the most recent edition available).
Additional requirements:
- If the applicant is an associate professor or full professor, the abstract and published article must have at least two co-authors from the Faculty.
- The authors of the abstract must be affiliated with the UP-FEIT. The first author, i.e. the applicant, must always be affiliated with UP-FEIT. If relevant, the affiliation should also indicate a research group.
- The applicant's MTMT database must be continuously updated.
How to apply:
Applications can be submitted throughout the year, starting from the date of the call for applications.
Proposal evaluations:
Each proposal will be reviewed by the Faculty Scientific Committee, and the final decision will be made by the Dean of the Faculty of Engineering and Information Technology.
The application must include:
- A completed application form (signed and scanned in .pdf format, and also in .xls or .xlsx format without signatures) emailed to: tudomany@mik.pte.hu
- A conference acceptance letter/statement/email, followed by a certificate of the presentation.
- An abstract clearly indicating the affiliation.
- Proof of other grant funding.
Maximum amount:
- 250.000 HUF for a conference in Europe.
- 450.000 HUF for a conference outside of Europe.
- For an online conference, up to the registration fee with a maximum of 200.000 HUF.
Use of the grant:
The grant can only be utilized for non-personnel costs, primarily conference registration fees, travel costs, accommodation expenses, and daily allowances.

Deadline for use and settlement:
Travel organization outside Hungary is handled through the centralized public procurement process known as KEF. The Travel Group of the Directorate for Tender and Project Management of the Chancellery is responsible for handling travel arrangements.
Funds awarded can only be used for:
- airline tickets,
- international train or bus tickets,
- accommodation,
- conference registration fees,
- travel by private car.
Reservations already made through other means may not be eligible for reimbursement.

Professional report:
The successful applicant must prepare a professional report within 15 days of completing the trip and send it to: tudomany@mik.pte.hu
The report should include:
- A summary of the essential elements of the trip.
- A summary of the professional outcomes achieved during the trip.
- A summary of the benefits obtained from the trip/secondment.
Failure to comply with obligations:
If the successful applicant fails to fulfill the publication or abstract obligations within one year, they may be excluded from future applications and may be required to refund the received funds.
If the event is cancelled or rescheduled, the successful applicant must immediately notify the Commission in writing.
Specific provision for doctoral students:
Doctoral students of the Breuer Marcell Doctoral School must specify the faculty research group in which they are actively involved and provide the name of their doctoral supervisor.
