This year’s MIK PARTNERS Professional Day, along with infrastructure developments, has a special focus on strengthening academic-corporate partnerships and the significance of the ongoing and future cross-border collaboration opportunities in the region. Besides local and regional economic and professional stakeholders, this year’s event is co-organised by the Faculty of Civil Engineering and Architecture of the Josip Juraj Strossmayer University of Osijek and the Hungarian DigiLean Association, whose presence and involvement support the promotion of professional, scientific, and economic life in the region.
The keynote presentations at MIK PARTNERS will cover the engineering solutions applied to built constructions that interconnect our regions and countries, scientific and engineering research projects that extend across borders, and the outstanding future innovation opportunities of the Pécs region.
Throughout the rich professional programme, we will present our joint developments with our partners, sign new cooperation agreements, and expand the professional content of our existing partnerships.
We will present the instrumental and infrastructural developments implemented with the support of our Partners, award Student scholarships funded by donations from our Partners, and reward the most outstanding entries for the secondary school competition titled “Me, the Engineer” with valuable prizes.
As every year, we will highlight the event with exhibitions and award ceremonies. Our faculty will host the Breuer Project, an exhibition by photographer Ágnes Mezősi, marking the unveiling of the Marcell Breuer Memorial Bench. Also, in keeping with tradition, the Alfréd Forbát Architecture Prize will be presented by the South-Transdanubian Chamber of Architects during the event.
The afternoon sessions will feature presentations on our current tenders and research projects, as well as presentations on quality management by the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Pécs-Baranya. The Engineer Chamber of Baranya County will deliver fascinating presentations about contracts and project pre-processing based on FIDIC principles, and with the cooperation of the Hungarian DigiLean Association, there will be an opportunity to get acquainted with and consult on increasing the efficiency of engineering and manufacturing processes.
