Mahatma Gandhi, a living embodiment of self-discipline, self-sacrifice, non-violence, was a leading figure in India's independence movement. Due to his exemplary life, the United Nations has declared his birth anniversary as the International Day of Non-Violence.
On the occasion of his birthday, a
commemoration and petal shower will be held at his statue in the Botanical
Garden of the University of Pécs Faculty, where all are welcome to attend.
The event will include speeches by Dr. Krisztián Bene, Associate Professor, Dean of the University of Pécs Faculty of Humanities and Dr. Zoltán Wilhelm, Associate Professor, Head of the University of Pécs Asia Centre.
