Our Faculty will host the 38th Technical Sciences Section of the National Student Research Conference

The National Student Research Conference (OTDK) is the largest student scientific event in Hungarian higher education. It provides an opportunity for the most outstanding university and college students to present their scientific research and artistic work. The national conference is held every two years and students can compete in one of 16 disciplinary fields after successful selection by a professional panel of judges at their local institutional TDK conference.

The competition is also open to Hungarian students living outside Hungary, as well as exceptionally talented secondary school students. At OTDK, young researchers and creators from different institutions but similar fields have the opportunity to learn about each other’s projects and creative work, while also receiving professional feedback from leading experts in their respective disciplines. This unique academic forum brings together a wide range of professionals and the elite of the Hungarian research community.

In the spring of 2027, we expect to welcome approximately 1,200 guests to the Technical Sciences Section of OTDK. The significance of the event lies is that it represents the first major milestone in research for students: an opportunity to gain hands on experience, become familiar with the academic environment, and build professional networks.

Beyond the professional competition itself, successful participation supports career development and employability in both the academic and industry.

Regardless of the final results, participation in OTDK is a mark of recognition and prestige. The experience gained in problem-solving, creativity, and innovative thinking represent added value for the labour market.

Our Faculty organizes several events each year for the engineering community, offering excellent opportunities for professional engagement, collaboration with partners, and insight into to the latest developments in science and technology. In addition to our traditional Pollack Expo and MIK PARTNERS events, it is of particular importance that we have of the honour of hosting the 38th OTDK Technical Sciences Section.
